Match Brussels – An advocacy event

Mentoring Meet and Match Brussels – An advocacy event

The European Center for Evidence-Based Mentoring organizes in collaboration with national and regional partners a Mentoring Meet & Match in Brussels, on 18/19 March 2019. It is the second time that such an event takes place, connecting mentoring organizations, universities, businesses and policy makers from all over Europe.

This two-yearly event in Brussels focuses on strengthening the communication between the mentoring field and EU decision- and policy making. It is also a major step for the mentoring field to advocate for the personal, social and economic effects of mentoring. The events translate the impact of mentoring on the lives of people to EU public policy.

Effects of mentoring and the relation to European policy making 2028

“Mentoring touches eternity, you never know when the impact ends.”

Goal of the 2019 Meet & Match is twofold. On the one hand, participants explore successful mentoring methods based on evidence, with impact on the development of people. On the other hand, they learn about the shaping priorities of the Europe 2028 strategy: how to collaborate on a European level in order to give an answer to European challenges?

Participants of the Meet & Match are delegates of:
– research institutions and universities,
– mentoring programmes (NGO’s, vocational and higher institutions),
– diverse stakeholders of mentoring,

Main topics of the upcoming event are:
– European focus on youth development and integration of migrants,
– Place of mentoring in national and European agenda,
– Impact of mentoring as shown by research,
– Europe 2028 Strategy: what can we learn from its focus and how can we connect,
– Multi-sectoral approach of mentoring and the relation to European priorities.
